So I went to the newsagent recently and brought a whole bunch of deep red markers, they're delicious, as they don't have that  icky pink tinge so many other 'red' markers have and they allow me to practice my contradictive lighting style using traditional mediums rather than painting on the computer.

So for this sketch I've used more black outlines, i've still elft areas where the shadows of the red defines itslf, but for the most part i've used black to define outlines even though i'm only using it as a midtone (for this style of art I'm using red as the darkest colour, rather than black.

And for this sketch I've used red for the outlines as well as the darkest colour, black remains a mid tone and is mostly there to add contrast. the first sketch was easier to do and took less time, but I like using only red for outlines. I'll probably go with the easier option though, because I want to produce more art rather than cater to my own weird tastes at the moment. :\

So i recently got a job, and it has allowed me to buy some nice big ass canvases, and an easle, sadly, it has also chewed up allot of my time, still today i managed to get started on one of them, nothing fantastic so far, just breaking in the main figures and basic shapes, and starting to shove in some light sources. once i've finished sticking on all the shapes I'll start to add details (and clothes).

still painting in black and white, not confident enough to use colour (plus the black and white paint pots i have are easier to use, i hate squeezing stuff outta tubes).

Speed paint, practicing representing forms through light instead of line (although i still have a few lines here and there). It's of me and my friend Kieren's synthetic combat armour design.

I was trying to draw somehting cool this afternoon, and it just wasn't working out on the page, eveyrthing i drew looked like crap and I was getting frustrated, I had drawers block, bad. But i still wanted to draw somehting, so i resolved for a compromise, I'd sketch and ink some photos form my highschool formal, wich dosn't require too much thinking, just gotta draw what you see. it worked out pretty well.
