Marker sketches.

So I went to the newsagent recently and brought a whole bunch of deep red markers, they're delicious, as they don't have that icky pink tinge so many other 'red' markers have and they allow me to practice my contradictive lighting style using traditional mediums rather than painting on the computer.

So for this sketch I've used more black outlines, i've still elft areas where the shadows of the red defines itslf, but for the most part i've used black to define outlines even though i'm only using it as a midtone (for this style of art I'm using red as the darkest colour, rather than black.

And for this sketch I've used red for the outlines as well as the darkest colour, black remains a mid tone and is mostly there to add contrast. the first sketch was easier to do and took less time, but I like using only red for outlines. I'll probably go with the easier option though, because I want to produce more art rather than cater to my own weird tastes at the moment. :\

ahhh one thing i love bout ur style is how u play with lighting ( notice that u always comment on my work but i always forget to comment on urs, so sorry sir!). being a manga addict, am wondering if u are ever gonna make a comic or one-shot eh? cos i can imagine those characters as part of a storyboard.

It's definatly somehting I want to do, but I have no energy, I need someone to hold me at gun point to get me to make a whole graphic novel.
